In their effort to make Qatar into a winter destination, Qatar National Tourism Council and Qatar Airways is bringing world-class entertainment to the country.

Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Maluma, Cheb Khaled, Yara, and Fahad Al Kubaisi will all be part of a World and Arabic Music Festival that will be held in Doha starting December 5, 2019.

Katy Perry, the pop icon, is back from a mesmerising performance in India and will perform in US before heading to Qatar on December 15.

American pop-rock band from Los Angeles, Maroon 5 will set the stage on fire at Doha Exhibition Centre on December 19. Following the debut of their most recent single, Memories, the band is on a high note with the track already holding top positions on all the music charts.

The tickets for the Katy Perry and Maroon 5 live show are already available on Virgin Tickets. Priced at QR 595 and QR 795, the tickets are selling like hotcakes.

Internationally renowned Algerian singer Cheb Khaled will perform in the country on December 14 at DECC. Known as the “King of Rai”, his 2012 album C’est la vie sold more than one million copies in the European market alone and 2.2 million copies in the Middle East and North Africa. The tickets for his performance at DECC is priced at QR 395 and QR 595.

Professionally known as Maluma, Colombian singer Juan Luis Londoño Arias will be in Qatar on December 16. With a Latin Grammy Award and two Latin American Music Awards under his belt, the artist is known for his singles Corazón and Felices los 4 and for his collaborative efforts Chantaje with Shakira and Medellín with Madonna. Priced at QR 595 and QR 795, the live performance will happen at DECC.

As part of Arabic Music, Yara and Ibrahim Dashti will perform on December 5, while Rahma Riyad, Fahad Al Kubaisi and Omar Al Abdallat will perform on December 7 at DECC. Tickets for both the shows are priced at QR 395 and QR 595 and are available on Virgin Tickets.

The festival has been scheduled to coincide with Gulf Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Qatar National Day.

Apart from the music festival lineup, there is a Belgian festival – Daydream Festival scheduled to happen around the same time. Known for its theatrical decors and good atmosphere, the festival was nominated for Best Newcomer at European Dance Awards and will take place at Ritz Carlton Island Doha.

A note of caution before you head to book the tickets, all the music shows restrict entry to kids below the age of 10.
