We moved the boat just a handful of times but never for more then 10 minutes. Odell Lake offers great fishing for Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout (Mackinaw), Bull Trout, Mountain Whitefish and Kokanee Salmon. It was a grind but we were able to catch some Yellowtail, great grade Tuna, and some Wahoo. All Tiger and Brown Trout must be released unharmed!.

Lake Trout are a very slow growing species, and those in Odell Lake are no exception. Wind looks like 2-6 Mph looks like mixed direction through the week. No Current report but the lake was recently stocked with legal RBT. The fluorescent red or orange jigs are particularly effective for this type of fishing.

Nymphing mid day has been good. If you plan to go after kokanee with jigs, the method that is most likely to result in limits, stick to the early part of the prime season, especially from early May well into June.
Pull the jig back slowly, letting it drop as it comes toward the boat in a pendulum motion, occasionally flipping your rod tip up to give it motion and then letting it flutter as it drops toward you.
